Hidden Secrets of Barn on The Farm Festival

If you haven't already heard about the little countryside gem that is Barn on The Farm Festival. Let me introduce you.

This beautiful independent award winning festival, which as the name suggests. Is held on a farm in Gloucester, and has resident ostriches!

When you're used to the hustle and bustle of large scale festivals, this place is a welcome calm. With a daily capacity of approx 3,500, you feel like part of the farm and the family when you come here.

The festival is a Mecca for up and coming artists with previous appearances from Ed Sheeran, Tom Grennan and James Bay amongst others before they became household names!

The festival officially starts on the Behind barn doors Thursday and Friday with the main festival kicking off Saturday and finishing Sunday.

It's clear how loved this festival is by artists, with so many of them returning year upon year either on the bill or for secret sets! Including in a previous year, Lewis Capaldi doing an impromptu set in the campsite in the middle of the night!

We were lucky enough to attend from the Friday to the Sunday. Some of our highlights from those days are as follows ....

Friday:

Coach Party - These guys hail from the Isle of Wight and have been a firm favourite here at Voice FM. Seeing them live, absolutely cemented their place in our favourite local artists! If you get a chance, catch them live. You won't be disappointed.

Cassia - These guys were new to us but we were so happy to have caught them! A great group with a tight performance and truly gave both of us early Foals vibes!

Plested - You may not have heard of Plested. But we know you will have heard his songs. He is a solo artist, but also writes for lots of other stars! He's written for the likes of Little Mix and Bastille amongst others. A great artist in his own right and so much fun hearing his version of songs made famous by other artists which he either wrote or co-wrote!

Saturday:

Sam Ryder - there isn't much I can say about this man which hasn't already been said. A majestic beard and beautiful hair! On the serious side though. Goodness me he has an incredible voice and can really hold a note! Sam Ryder is way more than just a Eurovision entry singer. Give him a listen and you'll be glad you did!

Beabadoobee - You'll know her coffee song when you hear it, if you're on tiktok. It absolutely exploded over there! But there's a lot more to this bass playing queen. She is a powerhouse performer with a repertoire of incredible songs!

Sunday:

Maisie Peters - You'll find my interview with the lovely Maisie here YouTube Channel

Maisie is a fantastic performer who closed out the second stage on Sunday night, and despite some technical difficulties managed to pull off an incredible set including bringing some friends out for it!

The Vaccines - these guys were doing a special afternoon set at the festival on Sunday. Which pulled a huge crowd and they did not disappoint! These guys are so tight on stage, performing all of their huge hits and had everyone singing along!

Holly Humberstone - She has come so far in such a short time including winning a Brit award yet she still has so far to go! Her vocals are absolutely outstanding and I'm so excited to see what else she has to offer going forward!
