Employed to Serve - live review

I've been looking forward to this gig for ages! Employed to Serve are one of the best bands in the scene!

Last night was the final date of an 11 date non stop tour, and what a place to finish! A sold out show at the infamous Green Door Store in Brighton!

A beautifully small and intimate venue that really encapsulates the spirit of the band playing! Also, you can still get two drinks for under a tenner! Always a winner in my book!

The opening band was Going Off. They've got some brutally heavy riff, with some introductions taking longer than the actual songs!

They certainly bought the energy and it was great to see that a large proportion of the crowd made it down for the opening band!

Up next, hailing from London town was Pupil Slicer! They kept the energy high, the and the crowd going! Highlighting the absolute best in Mathcore! If you don't know these guys, start by checking out their cover of Concubine by Converge and go from there!

The headliners, Employed to Serve. Last time I saw them was at The Joiners in Southampton (they were absolutely incredible at this show!) and they've gone from strength to strength since, including playing main stage at Bloodstock this Summer!

A set list filled with huge hits and absolutely monstrous rifs - Sun up to Sun Down has one of the best riffs of the last decade!

Hats off to these guys, they have done 11 nights on the bounce. Which is brutal for any band. But they showed absolutely zero signs of tour fatigue, and Justine's vocals were absolutely incredible!

If you ever get a chance to catch these guys live whether it's at a festival or one of their own shows. Do it! The energy they bring is off the scale and they always put on an amazing show!
