Bloodstock 2022 - Review

Although we could only make the Sunday this year rather than the whole weekend. We were not dissapointed... Well. I say we weren't... Of course we were gutted to have missed the Machine Head secret set! What we would've given to be there! A set that'll go down in history!

Having gone to Bloodstock previously, this weekend is always an exciting one! The festival brings together a calibre of both metal fans and bands like no other. You know it's a good festival when bands stay all weekend having already performed.

First band of the day for us was Vended! These guys have been getting a lot of press due to two of the members being the sons of Slipknot's Clown and Corey, but this is the least interesting thing about them. These guys are incredibly talented in their own right. They might be young and this might have been their first ever UK performance but they know already how to command a crowd. They're tight as a band and it's so exciting to see where they go from here!

We spent a lot of the day catching bands from the shade! Heatwaves are not your friend at a festival! Shout out and thanks to the organisers and medics though for ensuring everyone had a great time and for keeping everyone safe and hydrated.

Butcher babies, violence, cattle decapitation, dark funeral, orbit culture were all fantastic! Special shout out to Il Nino! We grew up as nu metal kids and these guys were such a great band to see including hits like "how can I live"?

The headliner on Sunday were the phenomenal Lamb of God. It's been a little while since Randy and co have headlined a festival in the UK, and they drew a HUGE crowd. An outstanding set from start to finish, with Randy paying homage to Sophie and Sylvia Lancaster. They blasted out hits such as Redneck, Walk with me in Hell and the ever so poignant 512 which refers to Randy's time being incarcerated in Prague.

Bloodstock is such a great family run festival. A festival made for fans and run by fans. We will definitely be back next year. Headliners already announced for next year include headliners Killswitch Engage and Megadeth with other bands including Devildriver, Decapitated and King 810!
